Authorizing an amendment to the contract between the City of Madison and Destree Design Architects, Inc. to extend the term of the contract to December 4, 2016 for architectural and engineering design services for the CCB City Channel Remodel project. (4th AD)
Body
WHEREAS the parties, the City of Madison (“City”) and Destree Design Architects, Inc. (“Architect” or “Contractor”) entered into a contract for the purchase of architectural and engineering design services for the CCB City Channel Remodel project on August 4, 2014; and,
WHEREAS the project is the continuing development and preparation of architectural and engineering design, plans and specifications, preparation of bid documents, assistance in the bid process and construction administration services for the design and construction for the City-County Building City Channel Remodel located on the 3rd floor in the City-County Building at 210 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.; and,
WHEREAS delete the term of the contract originally listed as “not to exceed one year”, or to August 4, 2015; and,
WHEREAS the amendment is to change the term of the design services contract to “not to exceed two years and four months”, or to December 4, 2016; and,
WHEREAS the time extension will allow Destree Design Architects, Inc. to continue with the construction administration phase of the project through construction completion and construction closeout; and,
Now, Therefore, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council hereby authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute contract Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 7310 between the City of Madison and Destree Design Architects, Inc. to extend the term of the contract to December 4, 2016.
