Fiscal Note
Dane County would provide reimbursement to the City to provide Metro transportation services to people eligible for Medicaid funded trips. Only individuals able or eligible for Metro services shall be funded.

Authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to enter into an agreement with Dane County for purpose of providing funding for Medicaid Common Carrier Transportation services for Metro Transit's provision of accessible transportation for persons eligible for funding and their use of Metro services within its service area.
Body
WHEREAS, the Dane County Department of Human Services is authorized to administer Medicaid Common Carrier transportation funds for the State Department of Health and Family Services; and,
 
WHEREAS, the Metro Transit, a Division of the City, operates fixed route and paratransit service that is accessible to individuals eligible for Medicaid Common Carrier transportation reimbursement; and,
 
WHEREAS, Dane County is able to reimburse the City for transportation services provided to individuals eligible for Medicaid Common Carrier transportation; and,
 
WHEREAS, Metro Transit is able to appropriately document specific individuals' eligibility for funding and services provided; and
 
WHEREAS, funding for Medicaid Common Carrier is a new source of revenue for Metro; and,
 
WHEREAS, this program is an example of a model cooperative funding program to the mutual benefit of both transit and human services;
 
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are authorized to enter into an agreement with Dane County to receive Medicaid Common Carrier transportation funding for the cost (100% of per trip cost) of each documented trip provided by the Transit Utility.
