Title
Commending Alderperson Jean M. MacCubbin for her dedicated service to her constituents and the City of Madison from April 6, 1993 to April 20, 2005.
Body
WHEREAS, Alderperson Jean MacCubbin was first elected on April 6, 1993 to represent the 11th District; and,
WHEREAS, Alderperson Jean MacCubbin served on the Board of Estimates, ADA Paratransit Plan Oversight Subcommittee, Common Council Organizational Committee, Community Services Commission, Joint West Campus Area Committee, Plan Commission, Ad Hoc Sesquicentennial Commission, Ad Hoc Swimming Pool Committee, Verona Road/W. Beltline Highway Advisory Committee, and the Board of Water Commissioners, and;
WHEREAS, Alderperson Jean MacCubbin also served on various subcommittees of the CCOC: Information Technology, Public Access and Input, and Council Staffing; and,
WHEREAS, Alderperson Jean MacCubbin served as Common Council President for the 1997 - 1998 term and served for five years on the League of Wisconsin Municipalities Board and the LWM Resolutions Committee; and,
WHEREAS, Alderperson Jean MacCubbin demonstrated her deep love of District 11 neighborhoods as represented by her actions by taking the lead on the creation of dog exercise parks, the clean indoor air ordinance, Master Plan for Hoyt Park, tobacco compliance checks to curb youth smoking, community gardens, the noise ordinance, the ordinance to ban talon bullets, electronic campaign filing, and the creation of the sister city grant process and evaluation; and,
WHEREAS, Alderperson Jean MacCubbin through hard work and dedication to her aldermanic duties has faithfully and with honor served her constituents and the City of Madison; and,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the Common Council commend and thank Alderperson Jean MacCubbin for her dedicated service to her constituents and the City of Madison and wish her well in her future endeavors.
