Title
Board of Health for Madison and Dane County Resolution #2024-37 Authorization to Accept Additional Funds from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services for Overdose Fatality Review
Body
Public Health Madison and Dane County (Public Health) proposes the acceptance of an additional $9,860 from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) for the Overdose Fatality Review (OFR) Implementation.
The Board of Health for Madison and Dane County previously approved Resolution #2023-36 authorizing the acceptance of $25,000 from DHS, Overdose Data 2 Action for States (OD2A-S) Grant to fund the Dane County Overdose Fatality Review (OFR) Implementation. PHMDC received an additional $9,860 from DHS/OD2A-S Grant, increasing the total amount to $34,860.
Public Health was selected by DHS to receive renewed and additional funding via a competitive selection process. Funding will allow for expanded data collection via a contracted data abstractor, exploration of data abstraction information technologies, and piloting of an OFR Steering Committee process.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County on behalf of Public Health Madison and Dane County authorizes the Director of Public Health, or their designee, to sign the agreement, accept and expend the funding, and amend the 2024 Public Health Budget by $9,860.
