The proposed resolution amends an existing contract for engineering consulting services for the John Nolen Drive Monona Terrace tunnel lighting replacement. The amendment would add $146,500 to the existing contract amount of $264,088 for a total amount of $410,588. Funding is available in the John Nolan Drive Lighting capital project within Traffic Engineering's capital budget.

Body
WHEREAS, City Traffic Engineering require architectural and engineering (A/E) consulting services to complete the design for a roadway lighting upgrade; and

WHEREAS, City Traffic Engineering worked with the Purchasing Division to issue RFP 8974-0-2020-BG to solicit proposals for such services, and received two proposals; and

WHEREAS, a panel comprised of five (5) City Staff from three (3) Divisions: Engineering, Traffic Engineering and Traffic Engineering & Parking Field Operations, evaluated the RFPs in one round, and upon completion of a collective review using criteria including Company Capability (10%), Project Team (20%), Similar Projects by Project Engineer (20%), Design Approach (15%), Cost (30%), and Local Preference (5%), a single Respondent was selected as the Panel’s recommendation; and

WHEREAS, the 2020 Capital Budget included funding for engineering; and

WHEREAS, the engineering services contract will consist of preparing plan documents for reconstruction of existing tunnel lighting facilities at the Monona Terrace over John Nolen Drive (USH 151) and the Wisconsin Southern Railroad (WSOR); and
