Revenues associated with the commission fees related to this contract have been included in the Revenues section of the Parks Division’s Operating Budget. Any future revenues will be included in the Parks Division’s Operating budget process going forward. There is no anticipated impact upon the tax levy.

SUBSTITUTE To authorize the City to enter into an agreement with Blue Plate Catering, Inc. to grant exclusive rights to provide alcohol service to Olbrich Botanical Gardens and the Warner Park Community Recreation Center.

Body
Blue Plate Catering, Inc. ("Blue Plate") has in the past worked with the City of Madison to provide all alcohol service (bar service, table service, tray service, and self-service of alcohol beverages) for scheduled event reservations at Olbrich Botanical Gardens ("Olbrich") and the Warner Park Community Recreation Center ("WPCRC"). Both parties desire to enter into a contractual agreement that will provide Blue Plate exclusive rights to provide Olbrich and WPCRC with alcohol service in return for commission fees to the City based on gross receipts as detailed in the agreement. These fees shall be collected and used to support Olbrich and WPCRC operating costs associated with providing quality and community accessible event facilities.

WHEREAS, Olbrich and WPCRC has sought the services of a qualified alcohol service provider for events; and

WHEREAS, alcohol services are needed to maintain the high level of event services currently being provided by Olbrich and WPCRC; and

WHEREAS, Blue Plate is qualified to provide the aforementioned services under terms agreed upon with Olbrich and WPCRC; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to enter into a two-year agreement with Blue Plate granting exclusive rights to provide all alcohol services for scheduled events at Olbrich and WPCRC in 2015 and 2016, with three additional two-year renewal terms available ending on December 31, 20...
