Fiscal Note
Expenses associated with this Agreement are provided for in the 2006 Executive Parks Division Operating budget. Revenues are budgeted as part of the General Fund Revenues and Parks Use Charges. No appropriation is required. There is no anticipated impact upon the tax levy or cost controls.
Title
Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into an Agreement with Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) for MMSD's use of City parkland for school athletic programs for the 2006 spring semester and the 2006-2007 academic year.
Body
WHEREAS, MMSD and the City's Parks Division have an ongoing relationship whereby MMSD pays the City for the use of athletic facilities in City parks for MMSD school athletic programs; and
WHEREAS, MMSD has requested that the parks Division continue to provide non-exclusive use of softball diamonds, baseball fields, soccer fields, tennis courts, and cross country courses in various City Parks for MMSD athletic programs for the spring 2006 semester and the 2006-2007 academic year;
WHEREAS, MMSD will pay all related maintenance costs and permitting fees as well as provide adequate general liability insurance as part of the agreement; and
WHEREAS, the Use Agreement will contain a renewal provision allowing for three (3) one year terms upon mutual agreement of the parties as to terms and conditions of such renewal.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to enter into a Use Agreement on behalf of the City with the Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) for the 2006 spring semester and the 2006-2007 academic year.
