Title
Authorizing The Mayor and the City Clerk to enter into contracts with agencies awarded some portion of the remaining 2007 Emerging Neighborhood Funds.
Body
WHEREAS, there remains $25,400 of Emerging Neighborhood Funds in the 2007 adopted operating budget; and
WHEREAS, the 2007 adopted operating budget appointed a workgroup consisting of a representative of the Council President, a representative from an emerging neighborhood, and staff representatives from the Mayor's Office, the Community Development Office, and the Office of Community Services to develop recommendations for funding; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council adopted resolutions 06152 and 06976 earlier this year to authorize $34,600 and $40,000, respectively, to various projects; and
WHEREAS, the Emerging Neighborhood Fund workgroup has issued a third request for proposals, will review the submissions by Friday, November 30, 2007, and will make funding recommendations prior to the December 4, 2007 Common Council meeting; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council approve the recommendations of the Emerging Neighborhood Fund workgroup related to the allocation of all or some of the remaining $25,400 Emerging Neighborhood Funds from the 2007 adopted operating budget; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that that the Mayor and the City Clerk may enter into contracts with the awarded agencies or their respective fiscal agents for the described activities; and
BE IT STILL FURTHER RESOLVED that the Office of Community Services and the Community Development Office will serve as lead City agencies for the implementation of the contracts awarded under this allocation of Emerging Neighborhood Funds; and
BE FINALLY RESOLVED that any of the unused Emerging Neighborhood Funds from the 2007 adopted operating budget be carried over for use in 2008.
