Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution authorizes an amendment to contract #8537 with MSA Professional Services, Inc. for additional design engineering services for S High Point Rd. The original contract was adopted via RES-24-00630 (Legistar #85460) on October 29, 2024 at an estimated cost of $285,000. The proposed amendment adds $20,750 in estimated costs for additional street and sewer work. Total funding for the contract and amendment is $305,750. Funding for the original contract and amendment is available in the 2025 Adopted Engineering - Major Streets Capital Budget (Munis #12454). No additional appropriation is required.

Body
The City of Madison is proposing to construct S High Point Road from Raymond Road to the Midpoint Meadows Plat in 2026-2027. The project includes construction of the roadway, multi-use path & associated lighting & stormwater facilities. The City has entered into an agreement with MSA Professional Services, Inc. (contract #8537) for design engineering services (RES-24-00630).
The project has been presented to the public for input at a public information meeting, & the City’s website. From the development of the plans through public input, including reviews from the Transportation Commission and the Board of Public Works, the City Engineer recommends that additional design services be undertaken:
1. Roundabout Design (including lighting, traffic control, drainage and design documentation) $52,900
2. Additional Survey for Roundabout design $1,800
3. Sanitary Sewer Design $4,000
4. Soil Borings $5,550
5. Total Additional Services = $64,250
