Title
Board of Health for Madison and Dane County Resolution #2024-33 Authorization to Accept Funds from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services for HIV Prevention and Early Intervention Efforts
Body
Public Health Madison and Dane County (Public Health) proposes the acceptance of $50,000 from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) as part of the Ryan White Part B supplemental grant for HIV prevention and early intervention efforts.
These funds from DHS will allow the Sexual and Reproductive Health team to continue ongoing collaboration with partners to host HIV testing events in areas with identified clusters of people living with HIV that may or may not know their status. This includes creating targeted advertisements in the areas prior to the testing events, travel for staff, and interpretation services for the clients to be fully informed about their care. In addition, these funds will also provide ongoing supplies as requested by local organizations to prevent the spread of HIV, these supplies include internal and external condoms, wearable dental dams, lubricant and information on how using these supplies can help prevent the spread of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STI’s).
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County on behalf of Public Health Madison and Dane County authorizes the Director of Public Health, or their designee, to sign the agreement, accept and expend the funding, and amend the 2024 Public Health Budget by $50,000.
