Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution authorizes the use of $25,000 from the Economic Development Division's (EDD) Small Business Equity and Recovery (SBER) capital program (program #13072). The funds will be used for:
1. Outreach as part of the Southesat and Southwest Area Plans: $20,000 - 23,000
2. Alder Small Business Familiarization tours: $2,000 ($1,000 for transportation, $1,000 for brochure and marketing materials)
No additional City appropriation is required.

Body
WHEREAS, the Common Council approved the Small Business Equity & Recovery (SBER) Program on September 1, 2020 (RES-20-00613, Legistar #61605); and,
WHEREAS, the SBER Program recognizes the need to continue to support businesses within the City of Madison; and,
WHEREAS, to continue to support businesses within the City of Madison, outreach efforts are needed to identify additional needs and barriers businesses are facing; and
WHEREAS, City Staff in the Department of Planning, Community and Economic Development and Council Office plans to conduct business outreach efforts throughout the City; and
WHEREAS, business outreach efforts will include activities such as door to door business walks and surveys for the City’s Southeast and Southwest Area Plans and the Alder Small Business Familiarization (FAM) Tour; and
WHEREAS, the Office of Business Resources, Planning, and Council Office will need funding to support these business outreach efforts.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council approve business outreach efforts for the Southeast and Southwest Area Plans and the Alder Familiarization (FAM) Tour, and authorizes the use of $25,000 from the EDD Capital Project # 13072 Small Business Equity and Recover (SBER) Program.
