The proposed resolution authorizes a sole source contract with Center for Patient Partnerships to provide services for the City of Madison - Citywide Implementation of COVID-19 Education Program. The program is funded through a US EPA Environmental Justice Grant, the acceptance of which was authorized by RES-21-00715, adopted on October 19, 2021. The resolution also amended the Sustainability Improvements Capital Budget to add $200,000 in grant funding. The contract is for $58,654 and is effective October 2021 to September 2023. No additional appropriation is required.

WHEREAS in 2021 the City of Madison was awarded a grant through the US EPA’s State Environmental Justice Cooperative Agreement (SEJCA) grant program in the amount of $200,000 to implement a Citywide COVID-19 Education Program; and

WHEREAS on October, 19, 2021 the Madison Common Council adopted a Resolution (RES-21-00715) to accept the award from the US EPA and amend the Sustainability Improvements Capital Budget to add $200,000 in grant funding; and,

WHEREAS this grant will support Public Education, Training, Emergency Planning, and Investigations on Impacts of COVID-19 on Underserved Communities and Vulnerable Populations in the City of Madison and Dane County; and,

WHEREAS the US EPA grant required a minimum of 3 partners in the community to build a coalition and drive the actions and outcomes of the project; and,

WHEREAS the Center for Patient Partnerships is one of the community partners in this coalition and has committed to the work laid out in the grant proposal; and,
