The Parks Division's 2007 Capital budget includes authority in the amount of $235,000 for the Cypress Spray Park (810582). Currently, $198,928 of budget authority remains.

This resolution increases the spending authority in the Parks Division's 2007 Capital Budget. Funding for this increase will be provided by a transfer-in from the McClellen-Dodge Trust fund.

PREAMBLE

The Cypress Spray Park has been advertised twice and the most recent bids were opened on March 7, 2007. After the first series of bidding, in which the bids were substantially over budget, the Parks Division revised the plans and specifications for rebidding. The most recent low bid is still substantially above budget. The Parks Superintendent is of the belief that further reductions in the scope of the project would be detrimental to the project concept.

The Parks Superintendent recommends that the necessary additional funds in the amount of $200,000.00 be used from the McClellen-Dodge Trust Fund, subject to the approval of the Parks Commission and Common Council.

It is the goal of the Parks Division to have the Spray Park in service around July 4, 2007.

BE IT RESOLVED, that the following low bids for miscellaneous improvements be accepted and that the Mayor and City Clerk be and are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with the low bidders contained herein, pending approval on March 14, 2007 by the Madison Board of Park Commissio...
