Amending the Police Department 2006 Operating Budget by transferring $24,000 budgeted for the purchase of radios to the purchase of radio batteries.
Body
Whereas, the Police Department 2006 Operating Budget has $2,000 remaining for radio supplies and includes $32,000 for the purchase of radios; and,
Whereas, the Police Department radio supply expenditures are estimated to exceed the 2006 Budget, based on the need to replace portable radio batteries; and,
Whereas, the Police Department will reduce the number of special events/part time parking enforcement officer portable radios to reduce the need to purchase all the budgeted radios; and,
Whereas, the Police Department will utilize the savings from reducing the purchase of radios, to offset the cost for additional radio batteries.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Police Department 2006 Operating Budget be amended to increase the funds allocated for radio supplies by $24,000 (GN01-55510-712100) and to decrease the funds allocated for the purchase of radios by $24,000 (GN01-58000-712100), resulting in zero net change to the total expenditure authority included in the 2006 Operating Budget.
