Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution authorizes the agreement for engineering services for the Wexford Pond and Greenway Flood Mitigation and Restoration Design at a total estimated cost of $262,690. Funding is available in the 2021 Adopted Stormwater Utility Capital Budget under the Stormwater Quality Systems Improvement Program (MUNIS 12750-84-174). No additional appropriation is required.
Funding for construction of the improvements will be included in the 2022 Stormwater Utility Capital Budget request.

PREAMBLE
The City of Madison Engineering Division conducted the Pheasant Branch Watershed Study that identified the Wexford Pond and Greenway as an area that needs storage and conveyance improvements to mitigate flooding of homes. The pond has accumulated sediment and needs to be dredged to improve its efficiency for nutrient removal.
The City Engineer has advertised for consultant services for the completion of a comprehensive pond and greenway design and restoration plans that will be used for bidding and constructing the project. Pursuant to City Ordinances and Policies, the City Engineer advertised for consultant proposals, reviewed the submitted proposals, and recommends the engineering contract be awarded to Strand Associates, Inc.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Strand Associates, Inc. for engineering services for the Wexford Pond and Greenway Flood Mitigation and Restoration Design.
