Fiscal Note
The agreement provides $39,000, with a Consumer Price Index adjustment for future years.  Revenue from this contract is included in the Fire Department's Operating Budget.  The City will also receive equipment valued between $8,500 and $10,000 each year.

Body
The City has an agreement with Dane County for Level B hazardous materials response that expires on December 31, 2011.    Dane County wishes to continue to contract for Level B hazardous materials response.  The new contract is effective January 1, 2012 and expires on December 31, 2014.  The contract also includes a three-year option to renew that is effective January 1, 2015.
 
The County has requested that mass decontamination services be included in this contract for which the City will receive $8,000 annually.  The City will receive a cash payment $39,000 annually for all services and will receive equipment from a grant  of no less than $8,500 and no more than $10,000. The agreement contains language  that adjusts the annual amount by changes in  the Consumer Price Index.
 
 
WHEREAS, the City wishes to continue a contract with Dane County for hazardous materials response within the County.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council approve the contract with Dane County for Level B hazardous materials response effective January 1, 2011.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council approves the three-year option to extend the contract beyond December 1, 2014.
 
BE IT STILL FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to execute this agreement.
