The proposed resolution amends the 2020 Adopted Operating Budget for the Planning Division - Neighborhood Planning, Preservation, and Design to accept a $10,000 grant from the National League of Cities Rapid Response Grant Program for 2020 Census. The Planning’s Division’s budgeted agency revenue and purchased services will increase by the $10,000 award amount.

Amending the 2020 Planning Division Budget to accept a grant of up to $10,000 from the National League of Cities Rapid Response Grant Program for 2020 Census “Get Out The Count” (GOTC) activities to reach historically undercounted communities.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Madison’s Complete Count Committee is working to help promote a complete count in the 2020 Census, especially with regard to historically undercounted communities; and,
WHEREAS, the National League of Cities Rapid Response Grant Program is providing grant funds for 2020 Census “Get Out The Count” (GOTC) activities to reach historically undercounted communities,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Division Director is authorized to accept a grant from the National League of Cities Rapid Response Grant Program for 2020 Census outreach to historically undercounted communities of up to $10,000; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, upon award of the grant, the 2020 Planning Division operating budget is amended to include the amount awarded, up to $10,000, for 2020 Census outreach; and,
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the Finance Department and the Planning Division are authorized to establish and/or maintain accounts as required for the administration of the grant funds.
