This resolution amends the 2005 Capital Budget by the addition of a parking lot and basketball court project in the Engineering-Other section of the budget. The estimated cost of the parking lot and relocation of the basketball court is $70,000, which would be funded by the borrowing of additional General Obligation Debt. Funds would be deposited into Account CS53-58201-810518. The value of the related lease is $5,500 for the land and $5,700 for recovery of the cost of the parking lot and the basketball court relocation, which represents the $11,200 referenced at the end of the preamble.

The City of Madison, the City of Fitchburg, and Dane County is partnering with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Dane County to construct the Allied Family Center on Jenewein Road. The 21,200 square foot club will be constructed on lands within the City of Fitchburg immediately east of the parking lot that will be constructed on lands dedicated to the public in the City of Madison. Those lands are currently being used for drainage, open space, and park purposes. The construction of the parking lot will require the relocation of the existing basketball courts to the south and west of the parking lot.
The parking lot will have 39 stalls for automobiles and 20 spaces for bikes. The cost of the parking lot and basketball court is estimated at $70,000.
It is proposed to include $108,420 of general funding in the 2006 Operating Budget as a grant for operations of the Allied Branch. In addition to the $108,420, the lease with the Boys and Girls Club for the Parking Lot provides that the City will provide a non-cash grant to the Boys and Girls Club for $11,200 representing the value of the land and improvements for the parking lot....
