Title
Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into an Incentive Agreement with Focus on Energy for the Fire Administration Office Building Tenant Improvements and Fire Station No. 1 Remodel design assistance program and accepting incentives from Focus on Energy in the amount of around $29,268. (4th AD)
Body
WHEREAS, Focus on Energy is an energy efficiency and renewable resource program funded by the state’s investor-owned energy utilities, under Wis. Stat. § 196.374(2)(a), and participating municipal and electric cooperative utilities. The program works with eligible Wisconsin residents and businesses to install cost-effective energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. The program is administered by Shaw Environmental and Infrastructure, Inc. and/or its parent company Chicago Bridge and Iron Company or CB&I (“Program Administrator”) under contract with Statewide Energy Efficiency and Renewable Administration, Inc. (“SEERA”); and,
WHEREAS Focus on Energy facilitated a collaborative approach with the City and the City’s architectural and engineering design team consultants, Eppstein Uhen Architects, JDR Engineering, and Sustainable Engineering Group LLC, to evaluate energy savings strategies related to building design for the Fire Administration Office Building Tenant Improvements and Fire Station No. 1 Remodel project that are cost-effective and make sense for the City’s project; and,
WHEREAS the intent of the process by Focus on Energy is to explore and quantify a number of alternative building design strategies that demonstrate the highest value for selection of the building envelope materials, lighting systems, and heating and cooling systems; and,
