The proposed resolution authorizes an amendment to the existing non-competitive service contract #7833 with MSA Professional Services for survey and design activities for the Southwest Hawks Landing Flood Mitigation project. The estimated cost for the contract amendment is $73,900. The total contract amount after the amendment would be $188,850. Funding is included in the 2019 Stormwater Capital Budget in the Citywide Flood Mitigation program funded by Stormwater Utlity supported GO Borrowing.

WHEREAS, The City of Madison has previously issued a Purchase Order to MSA Professional Services for survey of the Hawks Landing West Ponds, a hydrologic study of the part of Hawks Landing that drains to Lower Badger Mill Creek watershed, an alternatives analysis and preliminary design of a system to mitigate flooding at the corner of Hidden Hill Dr and Shadow Wood Dr in Hawks Landing, and a preliminary design of a system to mitigate flooding along Hill Creek Drive; and
WHEREAS, Further survey and engineering work is necessary to develop formal engineering plans and specifications for the selected engineering design at Hidden Hill Dr and Shadow Wood Dr; and
WHEREAS, Further survey work will be required on Red Tail Drive, north of Hill Creek Drive and through Hill Creek Park to formalize engineering design of the system to mitigate flooding along Hill Creek Drive; and
WHEREAS, Further engineering work is necessary to finalize design and develop formal engineering plans and specifications for the selected engineering design along Hill Creek Drie; and
