Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution authorizes amending CDA Housing’s 2020 Adopted Operating Budget to appropriate $286,245 of CARES Act funding. These funds were awarded as supplemental appropriations from the Housing Choice Voucher Administration. No additional City appropriation is required to utilize these funds. All funding through these programs must be used by December 31, 2020.

Amending the 2020 Adopted CDA Housing Operating Budget to accept $286,245 as awarded to the CDA by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act).
Body
WHEREAS, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) (Public Law 116-94) was enacted by the United States Congress on March 27, 2020 and appropriated supplemental Housing Choice Voucher Administrative Fees to Public Housing Authorities (PHAs); and
WHEREAS, the Community Development Authority (CDA) of the City of Madison was allocated $286,245 for Housing Choice Voucher Administrative Fee during the period beginning March 27, 2020 through December 31, 2020 in response to coronavirus during the period beginning March 27, 2020 through December 31, 2020; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the 2020 Adopted Operating Budget is amended to accept and appropriate an additional $286,245 of federal funding to CDA Housing’s revenue, supplies, and purchased services budget.
