Monona Terrace expects to receive donations to fund the entire cost of the event, which is estimated at $100,000. If fundraising efforts fall short, Monona Terrace will use currently budgeted funds as necessary. No additional appropriation is required.

PREAMBLE
The Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center Board is planning the 10th anniversary celebration of Monona Terrace with a free community event featuring live music, food vendors, family activities and fireworks to be held July 20th on the Evjue Gardens Rooftop. At its February 15th meeting, the Board authorized fundraising efforts for the celebration, and Board members will be seeking financial contributions from local individuals and organizations to help fund the costs of the celebration. In return for certain donation levels, donors will receive special privileges such as VIP tables, facility rental credits and placement of donors' names and logos on the event's promotional materials. The Bylaws of the Board provide that the Board may accept any contribution, gift or bequest for any general or special purpose of Monona Terrace, subject to the approval of the Common Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Common Council hereby approves of the Monona Terrace Board's acceptance of private financial contributions to be used for the purpose of promoting and funding Monona Terrace's 10th anniversary celebration, and the Board is hereby authorized to provide special privileges to donors for certain levels of donations.
