Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution authorizes an amendment to existing Board of Public Works contract #9442 for engineering services for the Starkweather Creek/Olbrich Gardens Watershed Study authorizes an additional $52,336. The original contract was approved via RES-21-00180 on March 16, 2021 (Legistar #64345), for a total amount of $479,930. The new contract, including the Amendment 1, will total $532,266. Funding is available in the 2023 Adopted Stormwater Utility Operating Budget in Munis #12761. No additional appropriation is required.

PREAMBLE
The City of Madison Engineering Division is conducting watershed and flood studies as a result of extreme rain events over the past several years. The City entered into an agreement with Stantec Consulting Services,Inc. for engineering services related to flooding evaluation in the the Starkweather Creek/Olbrich Gardens Watershed (RES-21-00180). The City Engineer authorized additional engineering services and recommend that they be undertaken by Stantec Consulting Services, Inc. for the Starkweather Creek/Olbrich Gardens Watershed as defined below:

1. Additional data collection and validation

2. Existing conditions model creation and calibrations work addressing unforeseen software issues including GIS interface flaws and size limitation of the model.

The existing contract shall be extended until December 31, 2024 to allow completion of the additional services.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an Amendment 1 to the contract between the City of Madison and Stantec Consulting Services, ...
