Amending Sections 40.08(1), 40.08(3) and 40.08(4) of the Madison General Ordinances to make changes regarding the issuance, term and renewal of permits to operate a conveyance.
Body
DRAFTER'S ANALYSIS: This amendment changes the time the Chief has to issue a permit to operate from ten days to thirty days. It also removes the requirement that owners contact the Chief to schedule a periodic inspection. The Chief will schedule periodic inspections according to the Department’s schedule. This amendment establishes that the permit to operate expires not from date of issuance but from a date established by the Chief, the permit is an annual permit.

1. Amending Subsection (1) entitled “Issuance” of Section 40.08 entitled “Permits to Operate” of the Madison General Ordinances to read as follows:
