Authorizing the City’s execution of an Underground Electric Easement to Madison Gas and Electric for electric service to the Madison Metro Transit Administrative building located at 1101 E. Washington Avenue. (6th A.D.)
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Madison (“City”) is the owner of the property located at 1101 E. Washington Avenue (“Property”), which is improved with the City’s Metro transit administration building (“Madison Metro”); and

WHEREAS, Madison Metro is scheduled to commence integration of electric buses into their fleet, which requires increased electric service provided by Madison Gas and Electric (“MG&E”); and

WHEREAS, the City is awaiting a revised map from MG&E showing the final location and dimensions of an Underground Electric Easement (‘Easement”) required for the installation and perpetual maintenance of the electric service facilities to serve the Property, as depicted on attached Exhibit A Draft; and

WHEREAS, MG&E has existing easement rights for electric and gas facilities on the Property that will no longer be necessary or require amendment, once the Easement is granted to MG&E by the City, and the upgraded electric service is complete; and

WHEREAS, the Easement shall be granted to MG&E by the City, together with MG&E’s release and/or amendment of any existing MG&E easement rights that are no longer necessary, or require amendment, through and/or serving the Property.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an Easement to MG&E, on a form approved by the Assistant City Attorney, across a portion of the Property generally depicted on attached Exhibit A Draft.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the final configuration and location of the Easement be approved by the City and Madison Metro staff to ensure the facilities do not conflict with City site improvements and uses on the Property, with said Easement being located w...
