Approving Request from Alder Tishler to Recognize Oak Park Heights Park Little League Diamond as Michael Pressman Diamond and Allowing Temporary Installation of Banner for 2026 on Diamond Backstop

Whereas, upon moving to the City of Madison with his family, Michael Pressman began his service to the community as an assistant coach in the Midvale Heights T-Ball League, where his daughter Nina was a player; and soon took on the role of T-Ball Commissioner; and
Whereas, over the course of his tenure, Commissioner Pressman provided steady leadership and guidance to one of Madison’s most cherished neighborhood programs; and has helped introduce the game of baseball to over 3,000 young players, fostering not only athletic skills but also confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong love of community participation; and
Whereas, Michael Pressman’s dedication has been guided by a simple and enduring philosophy: “I keep doing it because I love seeing the kids and their families have fun on the field. It helps players and families form friendships.”; and
Now, therefore, be it resolved, that the City of Madison hereby recognizes and honors Michael Pressman for his decades of outstanding service, leadership, and dedication to the youth and families of the Midvale Heights community and the Madison area.
Be it further resolved, that a temporary banner will be installed for the 2026 season and from this day forward, the baseball field at Oak Park Heights Park shall be known as Michael Pressman Diamond.
Be it finally resolved, that The Civic Recognition Award will be presented to Michael Pressman on June 2nd at 6:00 pm in Oak Park Heights Park before the opening pitch of the Midvale T-Ball League.
