Sufficient funds are available in the 2005 Planning & Development Capital Budget, project #2, to cover the recommended grant amounts that total $77,303, plus $5,000 set aside for design assistance and maintenance reserves, for a total cost of $82,303.

Approving the 2005 Neighborhood Grants Program recommendations made by the Staff Review Team and authorizing the Planning Unit Director, Comptroller and City Attorney to execute grant agreements on behalf of the City.
Body
WHEREAS the Neighborhood Grants Program provides matching funds to neighborhood organizations for activities that promote strong neighborhoods, and includes the Community Enhancement Grants, Neighborhood Leadership and Capacity-Building Grants, and Neighborhood Planning Grants; and
 
WHEREAS twenty-one applications were submitted requesting a total of $78,303; and
 
WHEREAS an inter-departmental Staff Review Team, consisting of representatives of the Planning Unit, Office of Community Services, Traffic Engineering Division, Parks Division, Mayor's Office, and Community Development Block Grant Office, met on May 12, 2005, to review applications and make recommendations for funding (including conditions to be included in the grant agreements); and
 
WHEREAS the Staff Review Team recommends twenty projects be funded totaling $77,303, as well as setting aside $5,000 for design assistance and maintenance reserve, for a total budget of $82,303, a copy of said recommendations which are attached hereto and made a part hereof.
 
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council hereby approves the 2005 Neighborhood Grants Program recommendations made by the Staff Review Team and authorizes the Planning Unit Director, Comptroller and City Attorney to execute grant agreements on behalf of the City.
