Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into an agreement with Tetra Tech, Inc. for engineering services for the East Isthmus and Yahara River Watershed Study, at a total estimated cost of $164,523. Funding is provided in the 2020 Adopted Stormwater Utility Operating Budget to support Flood Studies (12846-84-200). No additional appropriation is required.

Body
The City of Madison Engineering Division is proposing to conduct watershed and flood studies for the City as a result of extreme rain events over the past several years. The August 2018 historic event has highlighted the need for a comprehensive approach to Stormwater management to assist with identification of deficiencies on the system, project alternatives analysis for potential flood mitigation solutions, as well as prioritization and budgeting for future improvements to the system.
This contract will be a multi-year analysis (2020-2022). The City Engineer has advertised for consultant services for the completion of a comprehensive watershed study and report. Pursuant to City Ordinances and Policies, the City Engineer advertised for consultant proposals, reviewed the submitted proposals, and recommends the engineering contract be awarded to Tetra Tech, Inc.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Tetra Tech, Inc. for engineering services for East Isthmus and Yahara Watershed Study.
