Fiscal Note

The proposed resolution recreates position #4542 from a 0.9 FTE Library Assistant 1 (CG32, R5) to a 1.0 FTE Librarian 2 (CG33, R2). The recreated position is requested to provide additional programming and to develop partnerships at the Meadowridge Library. The estimated cost of this change is $8,000 in 2018 and $19,000 annually, including benefits.

The 1^st quarter projection for the Library is anticipating a deficit of $28,000 in 2018. The projection includes savings from known retirements through early April. If additional savings cannot be realized elsewhere in the Library’s budget, an appropriation from the Library's fund balance may be necessary later in the year.
