Authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute an amendment to the contract between Madison and Owen Ayres & Associates, Inc. for additional design engineering services for CTH M/Valley View Road Intersection and Pleasant View Road from Prairie Hill Road to CTH S. (9th AD)

PREAMBLE:
The City is proposing to construct a new street between the intersection of CTH M and Valley View Road and the intersection of existing Pleasant View Road and Mineral Point Road (CTH S). The project will include two new, two-lane roundabouts at the Pleasant View & CTH S intersection and the Pleasant View/ Valley View/ CTH M Intersection. The City Engineer has entered into a design engineering contract with Owen Ayres & Associates, Inc.
The project will be constructed partially using American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds.
The City Engineer recommends that several additional design services be undertaken by Owen Ayres & Associates, Inc. They are:
1. Modify signing plans and details required to reflect the change in name of S. Pleasant View Road and South Junction Road.
2. Modify sanitary sewer, water main and sidewalk plans.
3. Modify plan details and estimate and associated coordination to provide protection for a transmission pole being installed by ATC.
4. Include tasks associated with preparing an addenda to the plans and specifications to address changes required after the project has been advertised for bids.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an amendment to the contract between Madison and Owen Ayres & Associates, Inc. for additional design engineering services for CTH M/Valley View Road Intersection and Pleasant View Road from Prairie Hill Road to CTH S.
