The proposed resolution amends the Public Health operating budget to increase grant revenue and expenditures by $1,237,990 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention “Strengthening U.S. Public Health Infrastructure, Workforce, and Data Systems” funding from the WI Department of Health Services. The grant will be used to fund three existing project positions (described in the body of the resolution) from January 1, 2025 - November 30, 2027. The positions are funded by Public Health reserves in 2024.

Body
WHEREAS, Public Health Madison and Dane County proposes accepting Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) ”Strengthening U.S. Public Health Infrastructure, Workforce, and Data Systems (PHI) funding from the WI Department of Health Services (WI DHS); and
WHEREAS, the purpose of this grant is to support core infrastructure improvements in local health departments across three strategy areas: public health workforce, data modernization and foundational capabilities, as defined in the Foundational Public Health Services model; and
WHEREAS, the award amount is $1,237,990, with a funding period of December 1, 2022 through November 30, 2027; and
WHEREAS, Public Health proposes utilizing the grant funding to fund three existing project positions across the three strategy areas from January 1, 2025 - November 30, 2027, specifically:
· Position #3331 Public Health Supervisor - Lead efforts related to Access to Care, Linkages with Clinical Care, Language Access, and implementation of Electronic Health Record System;
