Authorizing the execution of a Utility Easement to Madison Gas and Electric Company across a City-owned property located at 1902 E. Main Street. 6th Ald. Dist.
Body
WHEREAS, the City Engineering Division is reconstructing East Washington Avenue - Segment 2 from Thornton Avenue to Second Street in 2006; and
 
WHEREAS, as part of the East Washington Avenue reconstruction project, Madison Gas and Electric Company is required to move their existing overhead power lines, which are located along East Main Street and South First Street, and place them underground; and
 
WHEREAS, Madison Gas and Electric Company has requested a fifteen foot wide utility easement ("Easement") across a City-owned property located at 1902 East Main Street; in order to place a pad-mounted cabinet to interface with the new underground circuits; and
 
WHEREAS, the City Engineering Division has reviewed and approves of the Easement.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an Utility Easement with Madison Gas and Electric Company for the Easement described as follows:
 
 
 
A strip of land, fifteen (15) feet in width, located in Lot 21, Block 1, Wakeley Subdivision of a part of Blocks 278, 282, 285, and 294 Farwells Replat of the City of Madison, lying in part of the SW ΒΌ of Section 6, Town 7 North, Range 10 East, City of Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin, said strip being more particularly described as follows:
 
The Southeast forty (40) feet of the Northeast fifteen (15) feet of said Lot 21.
The Easement is depicted as set forth on attached Exhibit A, dated September 29, 2005.
