Fiscal Note
There is no change in the salaries for the incumbents in the current Management Information Specialist 1, 2, 3 and 4 classifications. Estimated funding for the Information Technology (IT) reorganization and the creation of four Principal IT Specialist positions is included in the IT 2015 Operating Budget and, if necessary, will be accommodated through the management of salary savings. The exact cost will depend on the the incumbents reallocated and the starting date of the new positions. No appropriation is required.
Title
Create the classification of "Principal IT Specialist" in CG18, R14. Retitle the classifications of "Management Information Specialist 1, 2, 3 and 4" in CG18, Ranges 06, 08, 10 and 12 as "IT Specialist 1, 2, 3 and 4," respectively, and reallocate the incumbents to the new positions, respectively (see attached list). Create 4 positions of Principal IT Specialist to be posted and filled internally with the underlying vacancies being deleted and recreated as Principal IT Specialist.

Resolution that the classification of "Principal IT Specialist" is created in CG18-14, and that the classifications of "Management Information Specialist 1, 2, 3 and 4" in CG18, Ranges 06, 08, 10 and 12 are retitled as "IT Specialist 1, 2, 3 and 4," respectively, and that the incumbents are reallocated to the new positions, respectively (see attached), in the Information Technology, Police, Fire, Engineering and Monona Terrace budgets, thereof. Be it further resolved that 4 new positions of Principal IT Specialist be created to be posted and filled internally through a competitive process. Upon completion of the process, the underlying vacancies will be deleted and recreated as Principal IT Specialist.
