Public Health Madison and Dane County (PHMDC) proposes the acceptance of additional funding from the National Association of County & City Health Officials (NACCHO) to support the evaluation of harm reduction strategies.
The Board of Health for Madison and Dane County previously approved Resolution #2023-34, authorizing the acceptance of $38,00 from NACCHO to conduct a robust evaluation of the effectiveness of safer smoking supply distribution as a harm reduction and overdose prevention strategy. PHMDC received an additional $7,000 from NACCHO to continue these efforts, increasing the total amount to $45,000.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County on behalf of Public Health Madison and Dane County authorizes the Director of Public Health, or their designee, to accept and expend the funds in the total amount of $45,000, sign the related agreement, and adjust the 2024 Public Health budget by $7,000.
