Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute agreements with Dane County and the Town of Madison and authorizing modifications to the existing Traffic Signal and Street Lighting Agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the operation and maintenance of traffic control signals and street lights at various locations.
Body
WHEREAS, Dane County, Town of Madison, and the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation desire that Madison operate and maintain traffic signals and street lights at various locations; and

WHEREAS, Dane County desires that Madison execute an Addendum of Agreement to amend an existing signal operation and maintenance agreement to include an additional traffic signal; and

WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation desires that Madison Common Council agree to modify the list of traffic signal locations on Exhibit 1 of the existing Traffic Signal and Street Lighting Agreement by and Between the Department of Transportation and the City of Madison in order to include an additional traffic signal; and

WHEREAS, Section 66.0301, Wisconsin Statutes, authorizes cities, villages, towns, counties, and other public agencies to enter into agreements for the receipt or furnishing of services; and

WHEREAS, the City of Madison will operate and maintain traffic signals at various locations with part or all of the cost reimbursed to the City of Madison by Dane County, Town of Madison, and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation according to the percentage formulae set forth in Table A and Exhibit 1;

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and other City officials be authorized to execute the agreement and addendum of agreement with the Town of Madison and Dane County for the operation and maintenance of the traffic signals and street lights referred to in Table A, and authorize modification to Exhibi...
