No anticipated budgetary impact. The City's risk exposure is minimally increased, but no additional expenditure is required for indemnification.

Authorizing indemnification of the State of Wisconsin, Department of Transportation from liability associated with the work of City Forces in supplying and installing emergency vehicle pre-emption equipment on various traffic signals.
Body
WHEREAS, at its meeting of May 15, 2001, the Common Council approved Resolution #58335 ID#29496 authorizing the Mayor and other City officials to execute any application and acceptance documents from the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WDOT) for installing Emergency Vehicle Traffic Signal Pre-emption Systems; and
 
WHEREAS, the contract requires that the City indemnify WDOT: and
 
WHEREAS, City APM 1-1 requires Common Council approval whenever the City indemnifies another party and the funding by WDOT for these installations carries low risk and benefits the general public.
 
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council approves indemnification of WDOT as set forth in the contract previously approved by the Council in order to use federal funds for supplying and installing emergency vehicle pre-emption equipment by City Forces at various signalized intersections.
