A SUBSTITUE Resolution Rescinding Assessments for Rolfsmeyer Drive Sanitary Sewer Assessment District.

Preamble:
The Rolfsmeyer Drive Sanitary Sewer Assessment District was established on 5/16/2006 to extend public sanitary sewer to properties in the City of Madison not served by Public sewer. The project was proposed in cooperation with the City of Fitchburg as they had plans for redevelopment that would also benefit from the sewer extension. The combined needs of both Municipalities made the project more economical than either Municipality pursuing the project independently. Since that time, the proposed redevelopment within Fitchburg has stalled on two separate occasions and there are no current plans for redevelopment to occur. The assessments on the City properties are an unnecessary burden since the project is not contemplated at this time or the foreseeable future.
Now Therefore Be it Resolved, that the assessments for Rolfsmeyer Drive Sanitary Sewer Assessment District are hereby rescinded.
Be it Further Resolved that the Finance Department is directed to remove all outstanding assessments and deferred assessments against the properties of 510 Rolfsmeyer Drive, 530 Rolfsmeyer Drive, and 2995 Syene Road, as related to Rolfsmeyer Drive Sanitary Sewer Assessment District and that Resolutions RES-06-00408 and RES-06-00095 are hereby rescinded .
