In May of 2010, the Council approved a Resolution (Legistar #18366, RES-10-00460, adopted May 18, 2010) recognizing $7.2 million in Department of Energy grant revenues and associated expenditures. This Resolution will utilize a portion of those grant proceeds to fund the creation of a Limited Term Employee (LTE) Grants Administrator 1 to administer the grant. The estimated cost of a 1.0 FTE Grants Administrator 1 LTE (CG-RG, 18-06) for the remainder of 2010 is $20,095 in salary, plus $8,219 in benefits, or a total of $28,314. The full annualized cost for the LTE Grants Administrator 1 is $67,949 (including salary and benefits). Amendments to the CDBG and Community Development Division (CDD) 2010 adopted operating budgets are required, as follows:

The City of Madison was recently awarded $7.2 million by the Department of Energy. These funds are to be used for residential and commercial energy retrofits. In order to respond to this award the Community Development Division is asking to add one FTE (Grant Administrator 1) on a limited term basis for the length of the grant.

WHEREAS, the City of Madison has been awarded a $7.2 million Department of Energy grant; and
