WHEREAS, the far west side of Madison is continuing to develop and it is the City's policy to provide municipal sewerage and drainage services in an orderly and efficient manner; and

WHEREAS, the City's long range plans are now established by a boundary agreement with the Town of Middleton, allowing planning and development to proceed within the Lower Badger Mill Creek watershed; and

WHEREAS, cost apportionment and design / construction responsibilities shall be by these defined limits:
Segment #1 (Edwards Street to County Highway PD) - City of Verona
Segment #2 (County Highway PD to Mid Town Road) - MMSD
Segment #3 (Mid Town Road to Mineral Point Road) - City of Madison

WHEREAS, this watershed is not currently served by local sewers or MMSD interceptors; and

WHEREAS, portions of this watershed will be served by the City of Verona and MMSD interceptors, and there needs to be coordination of the City of Madison portion (Mid Town Road to Mineral Point Road) for the following tasks:

1. Gather and analyze existing information and maps.
2. Provide field surveying, soil borings, archaeological survey and obtain all rights of entry.
3. Design the interceptor and related sewer branch to the South Point lift station.
4. Design interim and ultimate Drainageway in conjunction with the Sewer alignment.
5. Conduct public informational meetings.
