Title

Approving Request from University of Wisconsin to allow the Urban Canid Project to continue for the eleventh year in Madison Parks.

Body

Dr. David Drake leads the UW Madison Urban Canid Project, which has been trapping, measuring and releasing coyote and fox in City of Madison parks for a decade.  He will provide a report on trapping conducted and data collected in 2024.  In addition, he will report on wildlife surveys his team conducted as requested by Parks staff at Hartmeyer-Roth Park and Olbrich Park (north parcel).

Dr. Drake seeks permission to continue trapping in City of Madison parks for the Urban Canid Project. The Commission is asked to consider multi-year approval.

This agenda item will be to receive his oral report and approve continued trapping.
