Fiscal Note

The proposed resolution amends the adopted 2018 Sewer Utility Capital Budget to transfer $30,000 of Sewer Reserves authority from the Reconstruction Streets program (MUNIS11790) to the Sewer Impact Fee District program (MUNIS11842) for the West Elderberry Neighborhood Sanitary project planned in 2018. The Sewer Impact Fee District program extends sanitary sewer service to developing areas of the City via installation of sewer infrastructure.

WHEREAS, the Adopted 2018 Sanitary Sewer Utility Capital Budget has no funds for this project; and

 

WHEREAS, the adopted 2018 Sanitary Sewer Utility Capital Budget has $946,800 of reserve funds in account 11790; and

 

WHEREAS, the City is in the process of creating the West Elderberry Neighborhood Sanitary Sewer Improvement Impact Fee District; and

 

WHEREAS, the City has determined sanitary sewer is needed to meet development demands that have been approved by both the Capital Area Regional Planning Commission and the Common Council; and

 

WHEREAS, the funds from this transfer will be used for City staff time to prepare the impact fee documents and hire consultants to prepare the easement documents where the proposed sanitary sewer will be located;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the 2018 Sanitary Sewer Utility Budget is hereby amended to transfer existing budget authority between major projects as described in the fiscal note.
