The annualized cost of the proposed reclassification is $27,610 (including benefits). The impact on the 2020 budget is approximately $13,805. Traffic Engineering's second quarter projection has an overall projected deficit of approximately $115,000 with a deficit in salary and benefits estimated at $87,000. Traffic Engineering will likely need a 2020 operating budget amendment to cover the projected salary and benefits deficit in FY 2020, notwithstanding the proposed recreation of position #624.
