This resolution will allow for the replacement of the roof at Fire Station #7, which was damaged during a hailstorm. The total cost of replacing the roof will be $46,220.73. Insurance proceeds will cover $45,720.73, and the remaining $500 deductible will be absorbed within the Fire Department's 2009 Operating Budget. No additional appropriation is required.

The roof at Fire Station No.7 was damaged during a hailstorm. A contractor found signs of damage during a routine repair of the asphalt shingle roofing system.
The City Risk Manager filed a claim with the City's insurance provider and received approval to proceed with replacement. Total cost for the replacement of the roof is $46,220.73. The deductible amount for this claim is $500.00.
WHEREAS, the City Risk Manager will file a claim for the covered amount of the roof replacement,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Fire Department 2009 Capital Budget be amended by the amount of $45,720.73, which is the invoice amount less the $500.00 deductible for the roof replacement, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the amount of $45,720.73 be budgeted in account CB72-58401-810341
BE IT STILL FURTHER RESOLVED, that the funds be transferred from the insurance fund to the Fire Department Capital Budget Account No. CB72-79475-8140341
BE FINALLY RESOLVED, that City Council approves this budget amendment.
