Title

Authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to enter into an agreement with The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company for provision of leasing tires to Metro Transit for a fixed-rate contract for a three (3) year period beginning on December 1, 2025, with two (2) optional extension periods of one (1) year each.  If both extensions go into effect, the full duration of this contract will be five (5) years.

 

Body

WHEREAS Metro Transit, a division of the City of Madison, leases tires for its entire fleet of buses;

 

WHEREAS Metro Transit’s current tire lease extension ends 11/30/2025;

 

WHEREAS Metro Transit developed a Request for Bids (RFB), which was advertised, and three bids were received; and

 

WHEREAS based on the review of the bids received, The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company was selected as the most responsive and responsible bidder, and a contract was prepared;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into a five-year total lease agreement with The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company for least of tires at no more than $0.008440 per mile for the full duration of this contract, in a form approved by the City Attorney.
