Fiscal Note
Fire Department costs will not increase as a result of entering into this contract.  The 2005 revenue of $10,700 will be added to the Fire Department's 2005 Operating Budget.  Future years' budgets will include the revenue associated with this contract.

Authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute a contract with the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs for the Fire Department to provide services to support the provision of emergency medical services at Dane County Regional Airport and Truax field.
Body
Resolution No. 61645 approved a six (6) month contract for a pilot program with the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs (DMA) which operates the Truax Fire Department.  The Truax Fire Department provides initial emergency medical services at the Dane County Regional Airport and Truax Field.
 
Both the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs and the Fire Department wish to continue this cooperative agreement.  DMA will continue to reimburse the Madison Fire Department for equipment and expendable products.  Payment will also be made for services provided for program training and medical direction.  The agreement period covers services from January 1, 2005-December 31, 2006.  The contract also contains two annual option renewal years with option to be exercised by the Fire Chief.  The annual contract amounts are:

2007      $11,600
2008      $12,000
 
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor, City Clerk and Fire Chief as designated are authorized to execute an agreement between the City of Madison and Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs for the Fire Department provision of services to support the emergency medical services program at Dane County Regional Airport and Truax field.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Fire Chief, Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to negotiate all related documents necessary to effectuate the afore-mentioned agreement.
