Body

PREAMBLE

On November 12, 2003 the City of Madison entered into an agreement with Flowforms America, Inc. for the fabrication of fountains and planters with the authority provided by Council Resolution No. 61080, ID No. 34989 adopted on October 7, 2003.  The fountains and planters are currently being fabricated.

These public works contracts will provide demolition of the existing structures, relocation and installation of utilities including underground vaults and site preparation prior to the fountain and planter installations.  The public works contracts will also provide restoration to the public sidewalk and streets adjacent to the work sites.

On March 16, 2004 the Council adopted Resolution No. 61319, ID No. 35482 authorizing additional funds for this project.  The project was bid in 2004, but a contract was not awarded.

BE IT RESOLVED,

1)                     That the plans and specifications for Capitol Square Fountains and Planters, be and are hereby approved.

2)                     That the Board of Public Works be and is hereby authorized to advertise and receive bids for the required public works contracts.

3)                     That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to accept dedication of lands and/or easements from the Developer/Owner for public improvements located outside of existing public fee title or easement right-of-ways.
