AT&T will be extending its fiber optic network within the City of Madison during the next few months, July through October 2008. This work is being done in order to enhance existing facilities in the Madison Area.

There will be a public hearing, before the City of Madison Board of Public Works, on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at 5:30 p.m. in Room 108 of the City-County Building, 210 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Madison, WI.
Cable installation contractors hired by AT&T will install buried fiber optic cable within the roadway limits at the following location:
1. Beginning in existing AT&T manhole 237’ east of Raymond Rd. and Rae La.
intersection, cross Raymond to the south, head west 261’ to the west side of
Rae La., head south along Rae La. for 789’ to Riva Rd., then west on the
north side of Riva Rd. for 168’.
The fiber cable will be directional bored and placed in the public ROW.
Restoration of any damage within the limits of the road right-of-way will be completed in accordance with the City of Madison’s standard specifications. All damaged sidewalk slabs will be replaced with 5” lift concrete. All damage done to grass between sidewalk and curb will be restored with a four inch covering of black dirt and seed. All restoration required within the traveled portion of the roadway will also be completed in accordance with the City of Madison’s standard specifications.
