Board of Health for Madison and Dane County Resolution #2023-37 Authorization to Accept Grant Funds to Support the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Programs
Body
Public Health Madison and Dane County (PHMDC) proposes the acceptance of grant funding from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) and the National WIC Association (NWA) for the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program.
The Board of Health for Madison and Dane County previously approved Resolution #2023-13 authorizing the acceptance of $992,555 from Wisconsin Department of Health Services for WIC services. These funds will be utilized by one of PHMDC’s current Breastfeeding Peer Counselors to pursue their IBCLC training and examination.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County on behalf of Public Health Madison and Dane County authorizes the Director of Public Health, or their designee, to accept additional funding amount of $102,615 from the WI Department of Health Services, sign the related agreement, adjust the 2023 Public Health budget accordingly, and to expend the funds in support of the WIC program; and
