Approving the purchase of medical cots from EMS Technologies, Inc. along with a preventive maintenance contract.
Body
The Fire Department has completed its review of medical cots on the market. The current medical cots have been malfunctioning. It is recommended that the City replace the existing cots. The Stryker 6082 cot is recommended for purchase. This cot is available from only two companies. The Department selected EMS Technologies, Inc. as the recommended vendor as they provide contracts for preventive maintenance services. The other vendor does not provide preventive maintenance.
The cost of 12 cots with a preventive maintenance contract is $56,191.04 without trade-in value and the discount for purchasing a preventive maintenance contract. EMS Technologies Inc. will accept the currently used cots for trade-in which will be reduce the cost by a minimum of $1,200.00. Funding exists in CE72-810339, Protective Gear for this purchase.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Fire Department is approved to purchase new medical cots from EMS Technologies, Inc.
BE IT STILL FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Fire Department is authorized to fund this purchase from CE72-810339, Protective Gear.
