Fiscal Note
No appropriation is required. Funding for related Madison Department of Public Health services is included in the 2005 Health Operating Budget. The indemnification provision minimally increases the City's risk exposure, but no additional expenditure is required for the indemnification. There is no anticipated impact upon cost controls or the tax levy.

Authorizing the City to enter into a one-year agreement with Dane County, Community Action Coalition, Inc., and the Community Development Authority for the use of a deprogrammed CDA unit as a base for social and health support services for the Theresa Terrace neighborhood, and authorizing the City's indemnification of CDA for purposes of this agreement.
Body
WHEREAS, the Community Development Authority has provided, free of charge, a three-bedroom duplex at 6401 Hammersley Road in the Theresa Terrace neighborhood to Dane County (Joining Forces for Families), City Public Health, and Community Action Coalition under a Memorandum of Understanding made in April of 2003 which is due to expire; and
WHEREAS, this location has come to be known as the "Southwest Resource Center" and the services provided thus far have had a positive impact on the neighborhood, and the City Department of Public Health would like to continue to participate in the efforts to provide social and health support services to this neighborhoods for the welfare of all residents and the prevention of escalating crimes; and
WHEREAS, all of the parties wish to enter into a new MOU under the same terms and conditions for another year; and
WHEREAS, the MOU calls for the City (and the other parties) to indemnify CDA.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are authorized to enter into a one-year Memorandum of Understanding with CDA, Community Action Coalition, Inc., and Dane County for the City to provide social and health support services to the neighborhood via the shared use of the duplex lo...
